Clive Staples Lewis (29 November 1898 – 22 November 1963)
My introduction to C. S. Lewis was like most people – through “the wardrobe” and into the wintry land of Narnia. The above book is in pieces not just because it is a cheap paper back copy. Its frequent use tells a tale of readers in our household (first me as a boy, then our children) who have drunk the Lewis cool aide.
Long since then I moved on to other things Lewis wrote, but I will always remember holding this book open, eyes open just as wide, trailing his words like a kid behind Hamelin’s Piper.
